Season 7 Episode 2 Bedlam

[Spencer’s house]

Juliet: Here, Hanna.

Caleb: Hanna, are you sure you don't want to go to the doctor?

Hanna: I'm sure.

Aria: Hanna, I think you should.

Hanna: The doctors are gonna ask questions. And then, I'll have to lie. No doctors, no questions.

Spencer: Hanna, I'm sorry, but you have to tell us about Mary Drake picking you up.

Hanna: Is she real? I mean, is she really who she says she is?

Emily: We think so.

Spencer: Yeah, she was a patient at Radley. - We found her file.

Hanna: What?

Alison: She's Alison's aunt, Charlotte's biological mother.

Aria: The DiLaurentis family adopted Charlotte.

Hanna: So it's her. Mary Drake, she's been after us all along. Someone killed her daughter and then she shows up to get even.

Caleb: Yeah, we're pretty sure she didn't show up just to get into the resort business.

Hanna: She must have been chasing me when I got out. But why wouldn't she just run me over instead of bringing me here?

Ezra: Because we gave her exactly what she wanted.

Hanna: Charlotte's killer?

Caleb: We're convinced it's Alison.

Aria: We found evidence.

Hanna: Spencer, can I have something stronger than coffee in here?

Spencer: Yeah.

Caleb: This belongs to you.

Hanna: Thanks.

[knock on door]

Ezra: Oh, that's Mona.

Spencer: Well, be careful in case it isn't.

Ezra: Well, there was nobody there, just this.

Caleb: "Couldn't have done it without you. Glad we're on the same team. A. D."

[Juliet’s apartment]

Juliet is watching Jamie doing his homework, smiling at him.

Jamie: mama

Juliet: yeah

Jamie: in school they use to tell us what our favorite moment was in our lives. I was just wondering what was yours?

Juliet: I think I have a couple

Jamie: really?

Juliet: yeah. One of them is my prom

Jamie: how comes? Because that is when everything bad stopped for a moment and I knew I was pregnant with you but I didn’t really know I just had a feeling. And another special day in my life was when I met you for the first time. When I saw your beautiful face finally after waiting. You looked just like my dad.

Jamie: I wish I met grandpa

Juliet: he would have loved you

Jamie: more than grandma?

Juliet: yeah more. Your grandma’s type of love can change a lot so. Erm anyways you finish your work okay.

[Alison’s house]

Aria: we just want to see her

Emily: All we need is five minutes.

Juliet: that’s all we are asking for

Elliot: If you really wanna help you'll give Alison time and space to heal. That's what she needs and that's what I'm going to make sure she gets. I'm sorry if you can't understand that. I know you're her friends but I am her husband and her doctor.

Spencer: Maybe that's not the best combination.

Elliot: Meaning what?

Spencer: Meaning maybe we're not the only ones who need a little objectivity.

Elliot: Well, maybe I'm not the most objective person. Perhaps that's because I've spent the best part of five years taking care of Ali and Charlotte. I lack the clarity you have, being gone so long.

Aria: Alright, this isn't about who cares about Alison the most. We all wanna see her get better.

Elliot: That's what I'm trying to do. And, yes, I have consulted other doctors and I've spoken to Jason.

Juliet: Jason?

Spencer: - You have?

Elliot: - Yes. He approves of her treatment.

Emily: - What about Mary Drake?

Elliot: - I won't let Mary Drake visit. I'm concerned about Ali's reaction to someone who looks so much like her mother.

Emily: - But that's Ali's aunt

Elliot: - I'm going to do what's best.

[cell phone ringing]

Elliot: Excuse me.  Yeah.

Aria: Is that the kind of diplomacy you learned in Washington?

Spencer: I'm sorry, Aria, I have a very low tolerance for condescension.

Emily: Eyes on the prize, Spencer. We want something from him.

Spencer: Yeah, and I don't think we're going to get it.

Juliet: Which means that Alison stays on one side of the wall and we're on the other side.

[cell phones chime]

Spencer: "She's mine now. No take backs. No do-overs. A. D."

Emily: She's mine now? Does that mean that A. D. is already in Welby?

[Juliet’s apartment]

Jamie is getting ready for bed Juliet looks at her phone wanting to call or text Jason for some answers but is hesitating to do that. Paul walks in the apartment.

Juliet: oh hi

Paul: I thought I was in babysitting duties, I’ll leave.

Juliet: no wait – Jamie loves you, you’re the only male figure in his life. I don’t want to tear yours and his relationship up because of – you know

Paul: me sleeping with his grandma

Juliet: yeah that.

Paul: what relationship do Jamie and I have?

Juliet: you’re his uncle Paul

Paul: what relationship do we have then?

Juliet: We are friends

Paul: oh god – err I wish you said that from the start. Maybe it wouldn’t hurt so much to hear now. Maybe I should leave rosewood.

Juliet: no no

Paul: it hurts so much to not be able to hold you and to kiss you and just be a family – you can still stay here and be part of the store

Juliet: I don’t want you to go, we don’t want you to go

Paul: I don’t want to be a bodyguard – I promised you I would be there for you no matter what but sometimes you have to be selfish

Juliet: you going to go back to my mum then? That’s what happened last time when I told you I was pregnant and all you said was ‘is it mine?’ I said no and then you left. Just like now. I guess we both haven’t changed.

Juliet goes to Jamie’s room leaving Paul upset and angry.

Season 7 Episode 1 Tick-Tock, Bitches

Aria: How could we let this happen?

Juliet: Oh, my God, poor Hanna.

Spencer: Try to remember that it's what she'd want.

Emily: No, I don't know if I can live with this. I mean, how can we bury - There has to be another way.

Spencer: - There is no other way, Emily. It was a well thought-out plan and when it ends up like this it's called first-degree murder.

Aria: Look, Spencer is right. Come on.

[4 Days Earlier]

Caleb: Toby, you speak cops. You should do the talking.

Spencer:  Wait, Toby, your job is on the line here. You sure that you wanna be a part of this?

Caleb: Are you serious, Spencer? Hanna's life is on the line.

Toby: When you asked me for my help, I said I was all in. I still am.

Toby: Alright, we're wasting time. Let's go.

Mona: Guys, hold up.

Aria: Alison's not the only one seeing ghosts tonight.

Ezra: Maybe she wasn't seeing ghosts at all.

Emily: Unless we're under a body-snatcher invasion that's a real person.

Spencer: When they dug up Mrs. D in my backyard she wasn't just a little bit dead she was rotting-corpse dead.

Caleb: Whoever the hell that is, she was at the Lost Woods tonight. 'If she's a part of this, she knows where Hanna is' and I will beat the truth out of her if I have to.

Toby: No, no, no, you can't just walk in there and start throwing punches. Just, just give me a minute. Let me find out why she's here.

Juliet: And who she is or what she is.

Toby: She's Jessica's twin, Mary Drake.

Mona: From the Radley file. She's Charlotte's biological mom.

Caleb: So why're we still standing here? She thinks Hanna killed her daughter. She's A.D.

Toby: Maybe. But she's one step ahead of us. She just bought the Lost Woods and she's in there filing a report about a break-in.

Ezra: By us. Damn it.

[cell phones chiming]

Spencer: "A lie for a lie”

Juliet: “an eye for an eye.”

Aria: “The bell tolls for Hanna.”

Emily: "A.D.”

[bell tolls]

Aria: No! No! Oh, my God.

Juliet: Hanna.

Caleb: No! No, Hanna! - Oh, my God.

Mona: Hanna.

Caleb: Toby. Come on. Come on.

Emily: Be careful.

Mona: Oh, my God.

Spencer: Hanna.

Aria: Hanna.

Juliet: Hanna.

Aria: Be careful.

Emily: This isn't happening. Emily She's dead.

Caleb: Hanna. It's a mask.

Spencer: What?

Caleb: It isn't Hanna.

Juliet: What do you mean?

Emily: Oh, my God.

Spencer: What?

Toby: So where the hell's Hanna?

Emily: What's this?

[automated message] You've got 24 hours to give me Charlotte's real killer or Hanna dies. Tick-tock, bitches.

Aria: What do we do? - Oh, my God.

[Spencer’s house]

Spencer: Okay, so my parents are about to board their post-election victory cruise so we can make this place command central.

Ezra: Look, we've been trying to figure out who killed Charlotte since she died. Do we really think that we're gonna solve that mystery in under 24 hours?

Caleb: Yes. We will because we have to.

Mona: This is the first time we've all been working together. That's what makes it different.

Juliet: That and a creepy twin.

Emily: Mary has to be A. D. What bigger motive is there?

Mona: And she has to be working with someone. While she was running around the woods last night somebody else dragged Hanna out of that motel room.

Spencer: Guys, Mona's right. It's just like Ali told Hanna. All of us working together knew what happened to her. So all of us together can figure out who killed Charlotte.

Mona: I'm sure each one of us has some idea about who did it. Don't we?

Mona: Alison. Alison. Alison. No name. Mona. Spencer. Alison. Alison.

Ezra: So most of us think that Alison killed her sister.

Toby: Okay, now we need to prove she had the motive and the opportunity to murder Charlotte.

Aria: I don't know about a motive, but she had the opportunity. That night we thought that it was Charlotte but maybe it was Alison.

Emily: How do you know it wasn't Charlotte?

Toby: Charlotte wasn't wearing a red jacket that night and she didn't drive Alison's car home.

Emily: Ali loved Charlotte. I mean, she stayed here to take care of her. Why would she do that just to kill her as soon as she got out? And Th there's no motive.

Toby: She's been on her best behavior since she got back, but we can't pretend the Alison who blinded Jenna never existed.

Mona: Maybe your goody two-shoes ex became too much for her to handle.

Juliet: Maybe she snapped.

Spencer: Or maybe it was self-defense. Maybe it was Charlotte who snapped again. We all know that she was upset about Alison and Elliot being together. Maybe Ali had to defend herself.

Caleb: I don't care why she did it, okay? I just, I wanna find a way to prove that she did it so that we can get Hanna back.

Toby: Okay, well, if the person who murdered Charlotte was wearing the red jacket it'll have Charlotte's blood on it.

Ezra: We'll go to her house to look for it.

Mona: I'm all over Mary Drake. I think she's the fastest route to Hanna.

Caleb: I agree.

Mona: So we work together.

Spencer: Juliet I think you should stay with Jamie, we’ll let you know if anything comes up

Juliet: but I want to help

Toby: Jamie needs you, you’re his mum

Juliet: okay

Toby: She said she was moving into the motel.

Spencer: All roads lead to the Lost Woods Resort.

[cell phones chiming]

Aria: Oh, my God, Hanna.

Caleb: Mona, let me see.

Juliet: Oh, she looks so scared.

Ezra: At least she's alive.

Emily: You guys, we have to get to her.

Toby: But where is she?

Caleb: We need to find her now.

Emily: Here are the keys to Ali's house. I'm going to Welby. And I'm not leaving without an answer. Ali has to tell me the truth.

[Juliet’s Apartment]

Juliet walks in the door to find Jamie and Paul playing playstation

Juliet: hi

Jamie: mama!

Jamie runs up to Juliet and hugs her

Juliet: I missed you so much

Jamie: where were you mama?

Paul: yeah where were you?

Juliet: erm I was at spencer’s they won so we partied

Jamie: can I come next time?

Juliet: yeah when you’re old enough

Paul: I’m sure Jason was invited right? I mean that is his step mom who won.

Juliet: Jamie why don’t you carry on playing and mama will order pizza okay?

Juliet: ok

Jamie goes to play. Juliet whispers

Juliet: that wasn’t fair

Paul: I didn’t know you knew about fair. So was he there?

Juliet: what?

Paul: Jason, was he there?

Juliet: no! – Paul I don’t want to fight

Paul: sounds like what I said once. Remember.

Paul goes to sit down with Jamie

[Flash back]

5 years ago, Juliet wakes in the store to find her mums coat. She looks around with a confused face. Walks upstairs to the apartment with the coat and finds two wine glasses. She goes to her room opens the door to find Paul and Hailey (Juliet’s mum) in bed together.

Juliet: oh my god!

Juliet runs out and downstairs to the store.

Hailey: go after her Paul!

Paul: Juliet wait!

Juliet: no! How could you? With my mum

Paul: I don’t want to fight

Juliet: I hate you

Juliet goes next to Paul and slaps him. Hailey walks down and Juliet looks at her.

Juliet:  I hate you too

Paul: Juliet please

Juliet: DON’T! I don’t want to see either of you again

[Flashback ends]

[Later that night, Spencer’s house]

Spencer: Mary Drake was in and out of Radley for a significant part of her life. She was initially institutionalized for an incident involving the death of a child who was under Mary's care while she was babysitting. There were no charges ever filed but she was forced to stay in Radley until she was 18. And then she was readmitted several times until she got out for good 23 years ago.

Juliet: So she was the babysitter from hell?

Caleb: You guys, that was Mona. Mary just left the Lost Woods. She needs backup. Now.

Spencer: Emily, what is this about?

Emily: I lied to you earlier, Aria. I did see Ali and I'm pretty sure she confessed to killing Charlotte.

Ezra: Did you record it?

Emily: No, it all happened so fast and I wasn't expecting her to say that she did it. I was the holdout earlier. I didn't write down Ali's name because I didn't wanna believe that it was her.

Caleb: Look, this is all great, Emily but the clock is ticking and it doesn't help us. We still can't prove it.

Emily: When I was staying with Ali she told me she was packing up some stuff to give to Goodwill. I didn't know it would be in there. I just had a hunch. Before we hand it over to A. D. Can we please go over this one more time? I love Hanna just as much as you all do. But we're about to hand over one of our own for another.

Aria: But it's different, Em. Hanna is innocent, Ali is not.

Spencer: Look, we know that Ali is a master manipulator but I don't believe that she's a cold-blooded killer. Whatever happened that night, I believe that she was protecting herself, but she still killed Charlotte.

Toby: We don't have time to debate this. Right now, Alison is safely locked up at Welby and Hanna's life is on the line. We need to get that jacket to A. D.

[car engine revving]

Spencer: Caleb?

Ezra: He's gone.

Juliet: How does he know where to go?

Spencer: He took my phone.

[A While Later]

Caleb: Have you heard anything?

Toby: Not yet. Radio silence.

Emily: One of us should go to Welby to check on Ali.

Aria: We did the right thing.

Juliet: She's in a safe place.

Spencer: Yeah, Welby is locked up like Fort Knox, Em.

Emily: I know. You're right.
