[Hospital]

Emily: Hanna's mom is with the doctor. I'm okay. I don't know who was driving the car.

Aria: We were at Mona's party, and Hanna got a text. So we were going to the parking lot to meet her, and that's when she got hit.

Juliet: She was unconscious. We couldn't talk to her.

Spencer: That's why we want to wait Maybe they'll let us see her or something. Um, let me call you back when I know something. Bye, Alex.

Aria: Is she okay, Mrs. Marin?

Ashley: She is going to be all right. She, uh She has a broken leg and a broken ankle, bruised ribs, and they might have to remove her spleen. What happened?

Juliet: Hanna was coming across the parking lot, and this car just came out of nowhere.

Ashley: Well, the police found the car. They said it was stolen from a campground lot.

Emily: Did they catch the driver?

Ashley: No, not yet.

Spencer: Well, the cops should be looking for Toby Cavanaugh.

Ashley: It wasn't Toby Cavanaugh. The police picked him up last night.

Aria: What?

Ashley: One of the officers told me they found him hiding in town, and they were bringing him in to the station when they got the call about Hanna. You girls should go home. I will call you when Hanna can have visitors.

Aria: Just let Hanna know that we were here.

Ashley: I will when she wakes up.

Emily: Toby isn't "A."

Spencer: Well, Hanna knows who is. That's why "A" tried to kill her.

Emily: You think they're just trying to scare us?

Juliet: Well, it worked.

Spencer: This was never about scaring us, that was just a bonus. This started with murder We were crazy to think that it wouldn't end up like this.

Emily: So should we tell the cops?

Spencer: Tell them what?

Juliet: Everything.

Spencer: We don't know everything.

Aria: So what do we do?

Spencer: Well, we talk to Hanna before we do anything.

Aria: Is Hanna safe here?

Spencer: Yeah. I mean, nothing will happen to her while her mom is with her.

[Next Day]

Juliet: Does it hurt?

Hanna: Yeah, kind of.

Spencer: Do you remember what happened?

Hanna: Uh, yeah, I remember. Um, mom, you've been here the whole time, too. You wanna take a break?

Ashley: Are you sure?

Hanna: Yeah.

Ashley: I'll be back in a couple of hours.

Hannah: Noel Kahn is A.

Juliet: What?

Emily: Are you serious?

Hanna: Yeah, I saw him in the woods, and he left an "A" message.

Spencer: You saw him leave a message? He wrote something on the back of a car window.

Emily: What car? What did he write?

Aria: "I see you."

Juliet: How do you know?

Aria: I was in the car.

Emily: Whose car was it?

Aria: Ezra Fitz.

Spencer: Mr.Fitz?

Emily: Aria.

Spencer: Hanna?

Hanna: It was Mr.Fitz.

Juliet: You and Mr.Fitz?

Spencer: You met him there?

Emily: The call you got at the party that was from him?

Aria: I couldn't tell. I couldn't tell anyone. I promised Ezra.

Juliet: Ezra? Whoa, hold it. This is something that's been going on? You and a teacher?

Aria: I didn't just get into his car last night. Who do you think I am?

Emily: How long have you been seeing him?

Aria: Um Since right before school started.

Spencer: Oh, my God, since labor day?!

Hanna: Okay, so you don't have a boyfriend in Iceland?

Aria: No, I did. Yeah, but it's not like that. You were seeing a teacher when I fixed you up with Noel? Oh, my God, I fixed you up with Noel.

Spencer: And why did you get in his car last night?

Aria: Well, he, um, called me and Oh, don't look at me like that.

Hanna: My head hurts just as much as my leg now.

Spencer: What exactly did you see?

Hanna: Well, I saw Aria go into a parked car, and then I saw someone in a black hoodie write something on the back of the car window, and when he turned around, it was Noel.

Juliet: No, it can't be Noel.

Hanna: Juliet, I saw what I saw.

Spencer: And "A" tried to kill her for it.

Aria: Okay, but none of us saw who was driving the car.

Knock on the door

Hannah: If that's someone with painkillers, just let them in.

Aria: Noel.

Noel: I just heard about Hanna. Thought I'd try to visit.

Aria: She just fell asleep. We're getting ready to leave.

Noel: What happened?

Aria: Don't you know?

Noel: I heard it was a hit-and-run.

Aria: Who told you that?

Noel: Sean. Is she gonna be okay?

Aria: Yeah, we hope so.

Noel: This is insane.

Aria: Yeah, you're right about that. Well, I'll take this in for you.

Noel: We need to talk.

Aria: I know.

Noel: You'll call me?

Aria: Sure, yeah. Noel. Where were you last night?

Noel: Hanging with Sean.

Aria: Why? Um, no, I was just wondering.

[In the hospital room]

Aria: He lied to me About being there. He said he was with Sean.

[Aria’s room]

Aria: Are you sure about what you saw on that tree?

Emily: We all saw it, Aria.

Aria: Well, I know, but do you think that maybe Ali just put it up there to see what it might look like?

Spencer: No, Ali may have done some psycho things, but she would never do anything tacky.

Juliet: Anyway, Ian was with Melissa last night, so he couldn't be "A”

Emily: which brings us back to Noel.

Spencer: He had means. He had opportunity. Those pictures of Emily and Maya were stolen at Noel's party, right?

Aria: Yeah, I know.

Spencer: And Hanna saw him write that message on the back of Mr. Fitz's car.

Aria: No, just slow down. You flipped over to Noel awful fast. Just 12 hours ago, you were so sure that it was Toby. What happened to that theory?

Spencer: "A" or not, you still need to know what Noel saw And what he plans to do about it.

[Spencer’s house]

Aira: We should call em, Juliet & Hanna.

Spencer: We'll talk to them at the hospital.

Aria: A tree, Spence, an entire tree. I would've settled for just cranberry juice.

Ian: Oh, you found my stash. Should be cold enough, right? Yeah. Well, you have great timing. Grab some glasses. Melissa's out in the barn.

Spencer: I'd like to know what I'm celebrating before I drink to it.

Ian: You don't have to be celebrating to drink champagne. That's very old-fashioned thinking.

Spencer: You canceled practice today.

Ian: Yes, I did. To be with Melissa? Yes.

Spencer: Why?

Ian: Uh, you know, why don't you come out and talk to your sister?

Spencer: No. I think I'd like to hear this from you.

Melissa: We're married.

Spencer: You're you're what? We eloped.

Ian: Yeah, it's incredible. It's like last year never happened.

Aria: Congratulations.

Spencer: Do do mom and dad know?

Melissa: Not yet.

Ian: Yeah, we expect they'll be a little, um surprised.

Spencer: Surprised?

Melissa: This is what I want. They'll understand. You'll help me with them. I know I can count on you.

Ian: All right, uh, bring some glasses. We'll have a toast.

Aria: Spence, what just happened?

[At hospital]

Aria: You told them?

Emily: Yeah.

Aria: How was that?

Emily: Rough.

Aria: Hey, it's gonna be okay.

Emily: I don't know what it's gonna be, but it's gonna be different.

Aria: I guess so.

Hannah: So the whole tree?

Spencer: Yeah, lock, stock, and bird's nest.

Hanna: Why? Why show something like that and then just take it away?

Juliet: Like "A" had a split personality.

Hanna: That's great homicidal and nuts.

Spencer: We've been thinking maybe we're dealing with more than one person.

Hanna: "A" and Ali's killer are two separate people? You are freaking out the invalid.

Aria: No, think about it.

Hanna: No, you think about it. Aren't we in enough trouble? I know I am. Just look at me.

Juliet: Hann.

Aria: Hann, who wrote this?

Hanna: I don't know. People have been in and out all day, and so have I.

Spencer: Oh, no.

Hanna: What? What? What's on there?

Aria reads: "Sorry about losing my temper. My bad.

Juliet Reads: Love, A."

Hanna: Who put that on my leg?

Spencer: Who wrote that?

Emily: Did somebody come in here while you were asleep?

Hanna: I don't know. Just get it off! Just wipe it off!
