[Emily’s room]

Hanna: Your sister's pregnant. How'd that happen?

Juliet: I figure pretty much the usual way.

Emily: It's not really a "how" question, it's more of a "why" question.

Spencer: Well, I mean, I guess Melissa could have gone all maternal, but I doubt it.

Hanna: This is so creepy. Where are they now?

Spencer: Philadelphia. Shopping.

Hanna: What do you think this means?

Spencer: I don't know, but Toby wanted us to have it. There.

Juliet: It's in braille, so –

Emily: You want to see this, Aria? –

Aria: No. I can see just fine from here.

Spencer: The first letter's a "B" - "A" – It's an "A".

Hanna: I think it's gonna tell us who "A" is.

Spencer: "D"

Hanna: B-A-D. "Bad"

Spencer: That's the whole message? "Bad?"

Emily: What's it supposed to mean?

Aria: It means you got punked. Toby doesn't trust us. I don't blame him.

Emily: No, I don't think he'd mess with us like this.

Aria: You'd be surprised what people are capable of.

Spencer: You guys, we have to figure this out. This might be a joke, but it could be something real.

Juliet: Look, either way, Toby's not the enemy.

Aria: You know what, guys? I'm gonna go.

Spencer: What was that all about?

Hanna: How should I know?

[School Canteen]

Juliet’s phone buzzes

Spencer: that a huge smile, who is that?

Juliet: no one

Emily: are you sure it’s just no one?

Juliet: Yeah

Hanna: has the elite cheerleader found an elite boyfriend?

Juliet: no, I don’t think so

Juliet’s phone buzzes again

Juliet: damn it

Aria: what? What’s wrong?

Juliet: I have to meet my mum’s new boyfriend today, great she’s been planning this for weeks now

Juliet texts Jason telling him she cant make it tonight.

Juliet: so what were we talking about?

Emily: You know, Aria might be right about this. Toby does have every reason to give us a hard time.

Spencer: I suppose, but that's just not the feeling that I got from talking to him.

Emily: - Do you know what I mean? - Yeah, I do.

Spencer: What is with you and the artful dodger? –

Hanna: Who?

Juliet: - Caleb.

Spencer: I thought that thing at the swim meet was a one-off.

Hanna: - It was!

Emily: - We just saw you talking to him.

Spencer: And you gave him something that looked like a wet oven mitt.

Hanna: - It was his hat.

Aria: - What are you doing with his hat?

Hanna: Why shouldn't I have his hat?

Juliet: Hanna, maybe you're looking for something a little edgier after Sean.

Spencer: But this guy is dark.

Hanna: Spencer, he's not that dark.

Spencer: He's dark enough.

Hanna: Well, he's no Arthur Dodger, whoever that is.

Aria: Yeah, he's just had it tough.

Spencer: Are you two on speaking terms again?

Aria: 'Course we are.

Emily: You need to be really careful about that guy.

Hanna: Well, it seems to me we had this conversation once about Toby.

[At the mall]

Emily: When are you supposed to see Toby?

Spencer: Tomorrow, while Jenna's at her music lesson.

Hanna: - Take it.

Aria: - No.

Hanna: No, you take it.

Spencer: The storm has passed.

Juliet: What was going on with you two?

Aria: Okay, so, you know how I went to that museum with Ezra? Well, "A" tried to get Hanna to ruin it.

Juliet: Ruin it how?

Hanna: "A" gave me another ticket and made me give it to Aria's mom.

Spencer: God Hanna why didn't you tell us what was happening?

Hanna: Well, I tried to stop it. I mean, her mom's car didn't just stall. Caleb fixed it to keep from getting there, and that's why I owe him.

Aria: Yeah, and he's the one who's been breaking into vending machines at school. I mean, he's practically living there.

Spencer: In school?

Hanna: They found his stuff, so he's not sleeping there anymore. He's sleeping in my basement.

Aria: Wait. Rewind that a little for me.

Emily: - Does your mom know?

Hanna: - No, but - it's just for a couple of nights so

Spencer: - A couple of nights? Are you crazy?

Emily: Guys.

Jenna: I want it to be perfect. He likes lace.

Juliet’s phone buzzes

Spencer whispers: who is that?

Juliet: err just my mum

Text Reads:

His back, the old Jason is back, tonight he is a free man – A

[Juliet’s house]

At the dinner

Steven: so Juliet your mum tells me you’re a cheerleader

Juliet: yep that’s right

Hailey: just like I was 

Steven: so you were a cheerleader too

Hailey: yeah, hunny stop looking at your phone

Juliet: mum its just Aria, she really needs me for something

Steven: your friends & you seem really close

Juliet: yeah we are like sister

Steven: you’re only young once, why don’t you just leave, we’ll be fine

Hailey: wait hold on, this dinner only lasted two hours

Juliet: mum two hours is a lot. And plus I’m pretty sure there will be more dinners

Steven: I’m sure too

Hailey: okay you’re excused

Juliet: okay thanks bye

As Juliet walks off Hailey catches up to her

Hailey: hi, so you like him?

Juliet: yeah I think he is great; he doesn’t seem like a creep nice one.

Hailey: I really like him Juliet

Juliet: and it seems like he feels the same way about you. Now you kids have fun.

Hailey: okay love you

Juliet: love you too.

Hailey walks back to the dinner table

Steven: she’s a cool kid

Hailey: I know

Steven: just like her mum

[At Jason’s hotel room]

Juliet has a spare key & opens the room to find the room trashed & Jason lying on the bed with empty alcohol bottles next to him

Juliet: oh my god

Juliet fill a cup with cold water & pours it on Jason’s face. Jason wakes up in shock & still drunk

Jason: what the hell! – Juliet I didn’t know you’re coming back

Juliet: I don’t even know what to say

Jason: this was nothing

Juliet: looks like you had a huge party – by yourself. You think this is a joke

Jason: no

Juliet: god Jason, I thought you changed

Jason: I did

Juliet: no you didn’t, you’re the same. I fell in love with sober Jason not the drunken mess. The real Jason was the only one I cared about & now I don’t

Juliet starts to leave; Jason grabs Juliet’s harm.

Jason: no don’t leave please

Juliet: Jason let go, you’re hurting me

Jason: please just stay

Juliet: Jason let go you’re drunk

Juliet carries on pushing Jason away, Jason lets go & Juliet falls & hits her head on the table. Juliet has a cut on her head, Jason tries to get her up.

Jason: Juliet I’m so sorry

Juliet: no, get off me!

Juliet gets up & walks away leaving Jason
